What is your professional experience?
I am a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. I completed a Clinical Psychology Internship and a Child and Family Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and a Marriage and Family Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences. I then was the Founder and Director of the Family Therapy Program at the Michael E. Debakey Veterans Administration Center in Houston before going into private practice.
In addition, I have participated and presented in many training programs, clinical workshops , and professional education activities over the years involving a broad range of clinical issues and emerging treatment modalities.
I have been affiliated in a teaching, training, or supervising capacity with a variety of training institutions including the University of Houston Clear Lake, Baylor College of Medicine, the Michael E. Debakey Veterans Administration Center in Houston, and the Houston Family Institute.
I am a founding member of the Houston Family Institute, where my private practice had long been affiliated. Since 2021, I have shifted to an independent teletherapy practice.
What do you specialize in?
I specialize in adult individual, couples/marital, and family therapy. I am experienced working with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, self esteem, relationship and marital issues, infidelity, multigenerational family therapy, traditional and non-traditional relationships, life transitions, and work related conflicts.
What are the rates of your services?
The fee for a standard therapy session is $270. Sessions generally last between 45 and 60 minutes.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not on any insurance or medicare panels. I am an “Out of Network Provider.” If you would like to file for insurance, I will provide you with a billing statement that you can file with your insurance company directly.
